Thank you Tidy Trims

Wonderful things happened at The River Center on August 22 thanks to two Conval seniors who had a great idea. Thank you to Bailey Englert and Cara Weiner for making the Tidy Trims free back to school haircuts event happen for families in our community. 64 children received haircuts by 10 hair stylists from 5 area salons. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen: Guys and Dolls Hair Studio of Bennington; Manhattan East and Reflections West of Peterborough; She’s So Fine Hair Design of Dublin; and Trends of Fashion of Antrim.
The cost of getting children ready to go back to school is daunting for many of our area families. One mom commented that this saved her $30 to $40. Her children had been asking for haircuts and she kept putting them off because she didn’t have the money. The gift of a fresh new haircut puts a smile on the faces of both the parents and the children. Thank you!

The River Center: A Family and Community Resource Center, located at 46 Concord St. in Peterborough, provides resources and opportunities for people of all ages and abilities through parenting support and economic opportunity programs. Funding is provided in part by the Monadnock United Way, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and through the donations of local businesses and individuals.
